
Alan S. Blinder Chairman
of the Advisory Board
Dr. Blinder is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Promontory Asset
Finance Company, and a Partner at Promontory Financial Group. He is
the Gordon S. Rentschler Memorial Professor of Economics and
Director of the Center for Economic Policy Studies at Princeton
University. He is a Vice Chairman of the G-7 Group and was a
Governor of the American Stock Exchange. Dr. Blinder was the Vice
Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
from 1994-1996. He represented the Fed at various international
meetings, and was a member of the Board's committees on Bank
Supervision and Regulation, Consumer and Community Affairs and
Derivative Instruments. He also served on the President's Council of
Economic Advisors from 1993 to 1994.
Dr. Blinder's leadership in the field of business education spans
three decades. He is the author or co-author of 12 books, including
the textbook, Economics: Principles and Policy (with William J.
Baumol), now in its 9th edition. Dr. Blinder is regularly quoted in
leading business publications, including The Wall Street Journal and
BusinessWeek, and his writings have appeared in journals and
newspapers around the world.
Dr. Blinder graduated with a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology in 1971. He received a M. Sc. in Economics from the
London School of Economics in 1968, and an A.B. in Economics from
Princeton University in 1967. |
